An application for funding to the Heritage Lottery Fund by Craigavon Borough Council has successfully drawn Stg£1.4m for the restoration of Lurgan Park, the second largest town park in the country. The funding was granted under the Urban Park Programme and a significant portion of it was put towards the restoration of the Jubilee Fountain which was built to mark the Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The fountain features gas lamps and was originally located in the town centre before being moved to the park almost eighty years ago and placed just off the mall.
